Because the K-FAST can help assess a person's capacity to function effectively in society, schools, adult education programs, clinics, hospitals, prisons, the military, senior care facilities, and more can use it. And the K-FAST can be administered and scored by a variety of personnel-although results should be interpreted only by qualified professionals. Performance on the Arithmetic and Reading Subtests and the Functional Academic Skills Composite can be interpreted using standard scores with a mean of 100 and standard deviation of 15. The K-FAST was normed on a representative sample of 1,424 people. All items were checked for cultural bias. And several studies support the K-FAST's reliability and validity, using both normal and clinical samples. Percentile ranks and descriptive categories are provided as additional aids to interpretation. The K-FAST was developed, field-tested, and standardized with the Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test (KAIT), the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (K-BIT), and the Kaufman Short Neuropsychological Assessment Procedure (K-SNAP). These four tests provide a range of cognitive assessment options. Choose the K-FAST to assess functional reading and mathematics skills that might be overlooked by more traditional ability tests. Subtests: Arithmetic (25 items), Reading (29 items), plus Functional Academic Skills Composite. Qualification Level: B |
